Mike Portnoy lahir pada 20 April 1967 dan dibesarkan di Long Beach, New York, di mana minatnya pada musik dimulai pada usia dini. “Ayahku adalah seorang DJ musik rock n ‘roll, jadi saya selalu dikelilingi oleh musik terus-menerus.
